    Note: to make it easier to assemble the ball and spring, you will need to make a small bent piece of metal approx 1/8" wide and 2" long bent at a 90 degree angle to help hold the ball and spring in place while assembling the parts. This tool is not included in the kit as these kits originally were shipped to Sears stores and the Sears tool people would already have the tool there.
    The instructions shows a drawing of the tool that can guide you to making one for your use.
